Arland Edward Stellmacher Jr., lovingly known as "Junior," passed away peacefully in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and family devotion. He was married to the love of his life, Gerry, for 68 wonderful years.
Born and raised on a farm in Ripon, Arland enlisted in the military in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1957. His strong work ethic carried him through a career at American Motors, followed by years as an ironworker with Local 8 until his retirement in 1997. He was also the proud owner of H & S Metalcrafts for 21 years.
Arland was a proud father to two sons: Charles (Chuck) and Corey. Chuck was married to the late Wendy (née Potter), and together they raised two daughters: Alicia (Ben Lancaster) and Cathryn (Jason Eggers). Corey and his wife Beth are the proud parents of Joshua and Chad (fiancée Alyssa). Their children Everett, Arlynn, Sebastian, and Harrison brought Arland much joy.
Arland had a passion for classic cars and restored several showpieces over the years, including a 1937 Chevrolet Sedan, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, a 1965 Chevrolet Impala, and a 1975 Corvette. He traveled annually to the Iola Car Show and was an active member of The Classic Chevy Club of Wisconsin, where he attended rallies across the country. He shared a special friendship with Bob Schumacher and family, bonded through their mutual love of classic cars.
In his earlier years, Arland enjoyed flying control line model airplanes and was an enthusiastic snowmobiler, serving multiple terms as president of the Menomonee Falls Snow Falls Snowmobile Club during the 1970s. He also loved reading about local history and cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his siblings DuWayne Stellmacher (Marno, deceased), Diane Cole (née Forbes), and many other cherished family members.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Barbara Maas (née Stellmacher), Donna Lillie (née Forbes), and brother Ronald Forbes.
Arland will be remembered for his kind heart, incredible work ethic, deep love for his family, and his lifelong passion for vintage cars and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Arland's family will greet friends and relatives at 10:00am at Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St. Hartford WI, 53027). Service will begin at 12:00pm.
