Arleen Marie Mollenhauer, age 77 of Northfield, passed away Sunday, August 10th, 2025 at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. Arleen was born on November 11, 1947 in Lakeville, the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy (Thomas) Kaufenberg. Arleen grew up in the Lakeville area with her brothers and sister and attended Lakeville High School. She worked for the telecommunications company in Northfield which eventually became AT&T. She then decided to open her own neighborhood daycare which she ran for over 20 years. Later in life, Arleen became involved with coordinating activities at the Northfield Retirement Community.

On October 9, 1976, Arleen was united in marriage to Doug Mollenhauer at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield and their union would be blessed with a son, Dustin. Arleen cherished her family gatherings, holidays and opportunities to cook excellent meals for everyone. She did not rely on recipes to do her cooking and always managed to prepare a feast that everyone loved. In her retirement, Arleen could be found at a slot machine across the many casinos in Minnesota where she loved to relax and enjoy her company with Doug.

Arleen is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Doug; son, Dustin (Grace) and their son, Soren; siblings, Al (Jen), Ray (Donia), and Joan (Dave); as well as her nieces, nephews, other extended family, her McDonalds and Hideaway Coffee Groups, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Dorothy.

Mass of Christian Burial for Arleen will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 20, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield with visitation held one hour prior to Mass from 10-11AM. Internment will be held at Calvary Cemetery of Northfield.

Arrangements are with the Bierman, Benson, and Langehough Funeral Home of Northfield. www.northfieldfuneral.com.
