Arleine Margaret Bathke, 92, passed away peacefully at home on November 19th, 2024, with family by her side. She was born November 23rd, 1931 to Frank and Mary (Ratchman) Traxler. On July 3rd, 1954 she married John R. Bathke and they had two children Steven and Diane.
Arleine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She valued most in life her family and her faith. She enjoyed time with family and friends, cooking, baking, canning, working hard, and helping other people. Known affectionately by most as "grandma", there will never be another chocolate chip cookie eaten without thinking of her.
There is not a paragraph large enough to fully explain the amount of knowledge and experience that one acquires in 92 yrs of life. She was the epitome of love and determination all in one person.
She is survived by: son, Steven (Sherre) Bathke, daughter Diane Searl, grandchildren Steve (Crystal) Bathke, Kala (Dan) Foley, Billie Jo Searl (Buck Benson), Ricky Searl II, great grandchildren Wyatt and Willow Bathke and Axel Foley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her brothers Lawrence (Doris) Traxler, Paul Traxler, Tom (Joyce) Traxler, sisters Lorraine (Al) Rivers, Margaret (Ed) Bauer, and sisters-in-law Marilyn Traxler and Alice Traxler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 4:00 pm at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Dr., Oshkosh with Fr. Ben Pribbenow officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 2:00 pm until the time of Mass. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
