Arlen Richard Klapatauskas was born on February 18, 1953, in the Town of Mead, rural Thorp, to Julius and Frieda (Cornwell) Klapatauskas. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at area schools, graduating from Thorp High School in 1971. After completing his education, he worked for the Willard Research Farm, Haas Inc, Plautz Brothers, Klapatauskas Forest Products Inc, with his brother and Hanson Masonry until he retired in October 2022.
Arlen had great love for his grandchildren Kinlee, Kaia, Fynn, Porter and Wells. He talked about them all of the time, bringing them candy at every visit, with seconds to boot. He enjoyed his sheepshead card club, deer hunting and watching all of the Wisconsin sports teams. He also enjoyed scratch off tickets and playing "his numbers" on the lottery. He enjoyed a good bowl of ice cream, ketchup on everything and a good Friday night fish fry. He was friendly and cordial to all he met and never wanted to cause any harm.
He is survived by his daughters: Samantha (Andy) Taets of Osage, IA and Hannah (Travis) Lingen of Stanley, WI; 5 Grandchildren: Kinlee, Kaia, Fynn, Porter and Wells; his siblings: Eunice(Ron) Hendrickson of Spencer, WI, and Randy(Leeann) Klapatauskas of Thorp,WI; one sister-in-law: Susan Klapatauskas of Thorp, WI; one brother-in-law: Robert Jordan of Fairland,IN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arlen is proceeded in death by his parents, his two brothers: Julius and Nicholas Klapatauskas and his sister: Karen Jordan.
