Arlene Colonna Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All County Funeral Home-Del Lago Chapel - Lake Worth on Jul. 29, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Katz Colonna, beloved mother of 3, grandmother of 5 and great grandmother of 6.

Arlene was born in the Bronx, NY, to Anne Katzoff and Joseph Katz. Arlene grew up in the Bronx and graduated from Central Commercial High School in Manhattan, NY, in 1958. She met and married the love of her life, Peter A. Colonna, in 1959. They were married for over 65 years.

She was a devoted wife who supported her husband's dream to own and operate a marina on Long Island as well as several other business ventures. Later in their marriage, she took care of her husband during his long battle with dementia. We suffered the loss of Peter in June of this same year. Shortly before his passing, Arlene dreamed that Peter was dressed

up in a Superman costume. She dreamed that he came to get her, and that they flew together high up in the sky. They have been reunited in Heaven.

Arlene is survived by her 3 children, Debora, Suzanne and Anthony. Arlene's true joy were her grandchildren: Maria, Nicole, Bianca, Genevieve and Aaron. Her six great grandchildren, Isabella, Annabella, Jordan, Guiliana, Jackson and Gabriella, also added much joy to her life. Arlene is also survived by her loving sister, Adele Melarczik.

It is with fondness that we remember her great sense of humor, her charm and her warmth.

We will surely miss our neighbor, Arlene! What a welcoming and friendly person she was. I know the last years were difficult for your folks but Arlene kept a good sense of humor. Watching her care for your dad, seeing them together was endearing and enduring! The story of her Superman dream gave me goosebumps and at the same time gives me happiness. Sympathy to you all!! ~ Janet and Pete Battaglia
