Arlene De Zao Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tuttle Funeral Home on Mar. 27, 2026.
Arlene De Zao, 89, passed away on Friday, March 27,2026 at Merry Heart, Succasunna. Arlene was born in 1936 and grew up in West Orange, NJ. She graduated from West Orange High School, where she met her beloved husband and partner for life, Richard "Dick" DeZao. The high school sweethearts married in 1958 and embarked on a long and wonderful life together, enjoying 63 years of marriage.

Arlene lived a life dedicated to her family. The De Zao home was always the center of family gatherings for all occasions. Her favorite family tradition was Christmas Eve, where the family attended Mass together and then enjoyed a traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes.

Arlene loved sports, but she especially loved baseball. She became a NY Yankees fan at a very young age and enjoyed catching the games on TV or attending them at Yankee Stadium. She instilled a love for the Yankees in her children and her grandchildren. Arlene also played in a women's softball league in West Orange for many years.

Arlene retired from Suburban Propane in 2001. She and her husband loved to travel, venturing throughout the United States and Europe. When they weren't on the road, they loved going to the casinos in Atlantic City.

She leaves behind her son, Richard DeZao, Jr. and wife Laura; daughter Diane Bogdan and husband Brian; her brother Rich Egidio and wife Joan; grandchildren Anthony, Andrew, Angeline, Nick, Matthew, and Stephanie; and great-grandchildren Madison, Melany, Brooks, Adrianna, and Noah.

Visitation: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).
