Arlene Decker, age 93, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Jenkins Living Center. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Scott Dempster will officiate.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday from 5-7 p.m. and prior to services on Tuesday.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Arlene was born July 15, 1932, in Eureka, SD, to Henry and Marie (Gohl) Schnabel. Arlene was raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota; she graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1950. Soon after, she married and began her journey as a devoted mother. She welcomed her son, Joey, in 1952 and her daughter, Jolene, in 1958. Arlene's love for her children was endless, and she shared an especially close bond with her son Joey, caring for him with great devotion until his passing in 2018.

In 1967, Arlene and her family moved to Watertown, where she built a fulfilling life and career. She worked various jobs in retail before opening her own shop that featured towels, soaps, and home décor-a reflection of her creative spirit and eye for beauty. Later, she joined Prairie Lakes Hospital, where she worked as a receptionist for 22 years. Her friendly smile and welcoming presence made her a comforting face to patients and staff alike.

Arlene had a lifelong love of antiques, especially furniture, dishes, and delicate tea cups. She enjoyed going on antiquing road trips, always on the lookout for unique treasures and meaningful keepsakes. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, cherishing every visit and conversation.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Jolene.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joey; her parents; two brothers and two sisters, and one niece.

A special thank you to Jenkins Living Center for the care that they have given Arlene these past years.
