Arlene LaCroix was born October 7, 1933, and passed away August 31, 2025, at the age of 91.
Arlene found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved sitting with a cup of coffee on the front porch, where she often listened to her cherished windchimes. Each week she looked forward to reading the DeQuincy News, staying connected with her community. She was a wonderful cook, and her Sunday dinners brought the family together. Above all, Arlene loved her grandsons deeply, they were the light of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Dwana Jones and husband Rodger; grandsons, Brian Jones and wife Toni, Brandon Jones and wife Sarah, Blake Jones; great grandchildren, Dylan Elliot, Bradley Jones and wife Sara, Brooke Jones and husband Dylan, Justin Jones, Josie Jones and Bella Jones; great-great grandchildren, Karter Jeansonne and Kason Jeansonne.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, DeArnold LaCroix and Doug LaCombe; sons, Walter "Bud" LaCroix and Billy LaCroix; sisters, Betty Groves, Joann Hebert and Margaret VanWinkle; parents, Alex and Idell Powell.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Rev. Carlton Jackson Jr. will be officiating. Interment to follow at Perkins Cemetery, DeQuincy,Louisiana.
