Arlene Anne Mauser, 90, of Metamora, passed away at 11:05 pm, Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Snyder Village.

Arlene was born on July 4, 1935, in Danville, Il, to the late Clem and Alberta (White) Agan. She married Herbert J. Mauser on June 28, 1958 at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Peoria. Herb passed away on March 13, 2016.

She is survived by two sons, Ken (Amy) of Peoria and Greg of Kirkland, Washington; two grandchildren, Kara (Nicholas) Kogelman of Saline, Michigan, and Eric (Abigail) Mauser of Reno, Nevada; two great grandsons, Graham Palmer Kogelman and Nico Hope Bobadilla Mauser; and one sister Marilyn (Craig) Andrews of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Leo Agan of Annapolis, Maryland.

Arlene graduated from the Academy of Our Lady in 1953 and attended Rollins College on a tennis scholarship for one year. She was employed by Illinois Mutal Insurance Company while living in Peoria. After marriage and moving to Rockford, she was employed by Cutler Hammer Electrical in their sales office where her team won a cruise down the Rhine River in Germany and a Hong Kong trip, which were some of Arlene's treasured memories. She later worked for Muntz Electrical Supply in Rockford, retiring in 2000. While living in Rockford, she was fortunate to make two lifelong friendships with Darlene "Susie" Wilson and Betty Nelson, who became like family.

Arlene had a passion and talent for watercolor painting and was a member of the Woman's Space Organization in Rockford which in part, promoted female artists in the area. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockford.

After retirement, Arlene and Herb relocated to Snyder Village in Metamora, Il, where they reconnected with their Peoria friends from their younger days and attended St. Mary Catholic Church.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at Snyder Village for their excellent and compassionate care provided to Arlene.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family burial of ashes will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Rockford, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Snyder Village in Metamora, Illinois.
