Arlene T. Volk, of Greentown, PA, died on August 25, 2024. She was 82. Arlene was born on August 26, 1941 in Philadelphia to the late Stanley and the late Wanda Pokrywka. She is the beloved wife of Charles Volk, with whom she would have been celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on September 5; mother of Sue Sullivan (Bob), Karen Vineberg (Jeff), Joan Glod (the late George), Kim Volk (Quan), Charles "Chip" Volk (Nikki), and the late Maggie Jenkins; grandmother of Tina, Kimberly, Ann, Ashley (Buddy), Anthony (Kate), Jessica, Jason (Angie), CJ, Bobby, Kelly Ann (Dave), and Ava; great-grandmother of Brynn, Blake, Rylie, Vanessa, Tyler, Kiera, and Kenna; sister of Stella Skibniowski, the late John Skibniowski, and the late Stanley Porkywka; she is also survived by a loving extended family and friends.
Arlene's greatest joy in life was her family, including her husband who referred to as "my Charles," her children, and especially her grandchildren. She had the patience of a saint and took a real interest in anything the kids had going on in their lives, and loved teaching them anything she could. Arlene and Charles lived in the Poconos, adoring the wildlife including the deer, the bears, and, especially, Peaches, the resident groundhog. The entire family has fond memories of weekends at Grammies, including the dogs, who she loved to a fault. In her free time, Arlene loved to read, crochet, sing and watch horror movies...the creepier, the better. One of her favorite things was going to the Outer Banks, vacationing with 20+ members of the family under one roof. She loved to cook, was very good at it, and shared her tricks of the trade. Arlene adored Elvis Presley and watched his movies and sang his songs. She had a flair for colors, glitter, flashy jewelry, and flamingos.
Family and friends are invited to Arlene's Life Celebration on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 10:30 A.M. until her Funeral Service begins at 12:00 P.M. at the Decker-Givnish Funeral Home, located at 216 York Road, Warminster, PA 18974. Interment will be private.
