Arlin Ray Young

Venus – Arlin Ray Young, 81, passed peacefully from this world on March 14, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 25, 1944, in Nashville, Arkansas, to Cecil Loyd Young and Ila Mae Lawrence Young.

After graduating from high school, Arlin served for a short time in the United States Air Force. Later in life, he met and married the love of his life, Joyce Marie Henderson Young, on August 25, 1979. Together they blended their families and later added to it, raising a total of six daughters.

Arlin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Loyd Young and Ila Mae Lawrence Young, and his brother, Loye Young.

He is survived by his sisters Joann and husband Walter, and Mary and husband Robert. his beloved wife, Joyce Young; his six daughters, Sheila Dianne Harris; Julie Anne Stephenson and husband Tommy; Sheryl Denise Yarbrough and husband Darrell "Tony"; Heather Rae Tromp; Emily Louise Pemberton and husband Kenneth; and Sarah Lynn Kippes and husband Shawn Jr. He also leaves behind a large and loving family that includes 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Arlin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held at Friendship Cemetery in Sherman, Texas, on March 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate his life.
