Arminta Dowdy Obituary
Arminta Lee Dowdy, age 84, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025 at her home. She lived in Langley, SC before moving to Fort Mill in December 1971 where became a member of the Fort Mill Church of God helping in the Children’s Nursery, singing in the choir, and working with the Senior Adult Ministry. She was employed by Craftman Printing for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lee Hollowell, Jr and Dorothy Neil Minor; and a brother, Johnny Hollowell III.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, W. Earl Dowdy, Jr; daughter, Deanna Ragsdale (Troy), Lynn Calhoun; son, Robert Dowdy; sister, Iris Taylor; Brother, Bobby Hollowell (Ann); sister-in-law, Pat Hollowell; 6 grandchildren, Mackenzie Rowland, Alexis Cail, Gabby Dowdy, Noah Dowdy, Katy Calhoun, and Charlotte Calhoun; 1 great-grandson, Aiden James Rowland.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 2pm in the Fort Mill Church of God with interment in Crown Memorial Park, Pineville. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until service time Thursday at the church. Memorial donations may be to the Fort Mill Church of God Senior Citizens.
