Armon Ray Wiggington

Armon Ray Wiggington of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023, at the age of 93. He leaves behind his beloved wife, of 62 years, Julia, two adult children, Edwin Wiggington and Deborah (John) Merino, and sister, Betty Smith. He was preceded in death by his other two sons, Alan and Arthur, as well as his sister, Marge, and brothers, Otha, Charles, and Gene. He also leaves behind several dear grandchildren.
Ray realized the American dream. Raised on a small farm in western Kentucky, he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana after high school and began working until he was drafted into the army. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War and earned an honorable discharge. He was a member of the Murat Shrine Temple of Indianapolis. Anyone who knew him understood that he loved to tell a story and was a talented salesman. Ray built a successful insurance agency as well as a home improvement business during his professional tenure. He ticked off much of his bucket list-owning a thoroughbred racehorse, a Cadillac, and retiring in Phoenix with Julia. Remarkably, he survived several health challenges and until his last year, he was still able to drive to the corner store and buy his daily lottery ticket. Ray took great comfort in reading his bible and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior. He loved deeply and was loved dearly. Ray's warm smile will be missed but not forgotten.
The family will hold a small private service at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery on Monday June 19th at 9:30 am, 7900 E Main St, Mesa, AZ,85207.
