Armond Walden Obituary

Armond DeVon Walden was born on February 9th , 1961in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the eldest of four sons born to Charles and Barbara Walden. He graduated from Manor High School in 1979. After enlisting in the United States Airforce in 1980, his desire was to be saved before going off to basic training. The Lord answered his prayers and on September 19 th , 1980, Armond accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and became a soldier of Christ. He served for 20 years in the Airforce. After exiting the Airforce, Armond worked for Delaware Area Regional Transit (DART) as a bus operator. He also worked for C.M Noble in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

In August of 1985 Armond met his wife, Buelah. They were married in May of 1986. From this union came two sons, Brian Matthew and Michael Daniel. Armond loved, protected, provided and cared for his family. He enjoyed traveling with his family and taught his sons how to play football and basketball. He found great pleasure in studying and discussing the Word of God. He diligently studied his Bible and had an extensive knowledge of the scriptures. Armond had a desire to share the gospel with those he would meet. He gave out gospel tracts and calendars. He was a devout member of the body of Christ at Overbrook Avenue Gospel Hall in Philadelphia for 39 years.

Armond has experienced many health challenges over the past nine years. He was a patient at Fresenius Medical Care Clinic. Due to his interaction with all the patients and staff, he earned the nick name as “the mayor”. He greeted each patient and staff by name and with a smile. This was where he met Cheryl, a dialysis nurse who treated and cared for him. He adopted her as his daughter, and she called him Dad. She is now part of the family.

On Monday morning, October 20th , Armond transitioned from this life into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8)

He leaves to cherish his memory, Wife of 39 years Buelah, Sons, Brian and Michael Walden, Mother Barbara Walden, Father Charles Walden, Brothers Ron Walden (Cathy), Darryl Walden (Tonya), Tracey Walden (Angie), nephews, nieces and a host of relatives and friends. Armond will be greatly missed and will forever be etched in our hearts.
