Arnold "Butch" Ball, age 77 of Burnsville, NC, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2024. Butch was the absolute best husband, daddy, and Paw to his whole family, of whom he was always so proud of and loved with all of his heart.
He was loved by all who met him, and in him, they knew they had a friend for life. Anytime Butch's name was mentioned by anyone, they always said, "He is a good man". He wasn't just a good man, but a saved man, who loved the Lord and his family so very much. He was a member of Coffee Ridge Baptist Church in Erwin, TN, and proudly served our country during the war in Vietnam. Butch especially loved Bluegrass and Gospel music and taught his grandsons how to play the guitar and dobro. Because of this music, they formed a bluegrass band, and he faithfully followed them everywhere they went. All of his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Butch was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Evelyn Weeks. Left to cherish all of his many precious memories is his wife, Beverly Ball; daughter, Bethany (Benjie) Riddle; son, Justin Tipton; and daughter, Julie (Rodney) Austin; grandchildren: Jonah Riddle and Ashlyn Miller, Grayson Riddle, Colt Austin, and Carly Austin; as well as a special friend, Mike Fleenor, who was faithful to come and visit.
Family will receive friends and loved ones for one hour during visitation in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. with the service following at 4:00. Interment will follow the service in the Ball Family Cemetery in Burnsville, NC. Reverend Philip Garland and Reverend Scot Garland will be officiating.
Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Ball family.

We started 1st grade together and graduated high school together. After football practice at Cane River High we would walk home together taking every short cut thru cow pastures, climbing fences and in the August-September heat sometimes take a break under an apple tree. Lot of good friendship. Last time I visited Butch was about 3 years before his house burned on Phipps Creek. Just lost touch. Always have the desire and plan to get together but so often we fail to complete....regret that. My grandmother, Lowry Edwards (King) was born and raised on Coffee Ridge. My great Grandparents buried there. Now wonder how Butch developed connection to Coffee Ridge. Life passes so fast; we all miss out on so much. Always remember Butch and what he taught you. What I remember, me being short and his long legs, on those walks home after football practice, I walked twice as far as he did.
