Arnold “Jay” Eicker, 71, of Clifton, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, just days before his 72nd birthday.
Born on April 21, 1954, in Hutchinson, Kansas, Jay was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country with honor from 1972 to 1975 as an Administrative Specialist. After his time in the service, he took to the open road as a truck driver, earning a reputation for his tireless work ethic, steadfast loyalty, and generous heart. Jay never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
In the later years of his life, Jay embraced new beginnings through the VA Blind Rehabilitation Center. There, he found purpose, community, and a renewed sense of joy. He discovered a passion for woodworking and formed friendships that brought light and laughter to his days.
Jay was preceded in death by the love of his life, his cherished wife, Nancy Eicker, his mother Alice Booth Eicker and his father Norman Jay Eicker.. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in his children: Richard Harris (fiancée Candace Foster), Olivia Hopkins, Sheena (Ro Perez), Autumn (Alfonso Villalpando), and Marjorie Eicker. He was a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Family and friends are invited to honor Jay’s life at a visitation on April 23, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lawson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 24, 2025, also at Lawson Funeral Home. His final resting place will be at DFW National Cemetery, with inurnment to take place at a later date.
Jay will be remembered always as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man whose quiet strength and deep compassion touched many lives.
