Arnold Norman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Winters Funeral Home - Winters on Jan. 6, 2026.
Arnold Wayne Norman ("Buffy" or "Buff" to many) of Odessa, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025. Born on July 12, 1953 in Runnels County, Arnold was the son of the late Thomas and Ruby Norman. Arnold graduated from Winters High School in 1972 where he was voted class favorite his Sophomore year.

Arnold worked for Halliburton Energy Services Inc. for over 40 years from 1974 to 2015 working his way up to a Senior Account Representative. In his time at Halliburton he roamed all throughout Texas, Alabama, and made countless life-long friends. Arnold also enjoyed watching and attending rodeos as he made it a habit for 35 years to attend the annual National Finals Rodeo. On his off days, Arnold enjoyed making long road trips to visit friends and family often times unannounced which was always a welcomed and wonderful surprise. An avid fan of Texas Tech and Dallas Cowboys, you could find Arnold enjoying football and repping a Texas Tech shirt, pants, hat, you name it. Arnold left an impression on everyone he crossed paths with and was an instant friend.

Arnold is survived by his niece Becky and her husband Sam Wylie of Tuscola; nephew Jimmy and his wife Lisa Moore of Johnson City; niece Michelle Larsen of Abilene; Rhonda and her husband John Wylie of Purcell, Oklahoma; niece Tammy Caldwell of Johnson City; and Waylon Norman of Odessa. Nine great nieces and nephews; Charlie Moore and his husband Todd Darroca of Wimberley; Jessica and her husband Clay Atkins of Leander; Bryson Caldwell of Corpus Christi; Samantha Wylie of Tuscola; BreAnn Larsen of Lubbock; Rachel Larsen of Abilene; Kaylee Larsen of Abilene; Alexis and her husband Bailey Green of Glen Rose; and Brooklyn Norman of Glen Rose. Arnold is preceded in death by his sister Dorothy King, brothers Troy Norman and Kenneth Norman.

A memorial service will be January 24, 2026 at 1 PM at Winters Funeral Home in Winters, Texas.
