John Dobransky

John (Edwin) Dobransky, 75, of Winters, TX passed away on January 15, 2026. John was born on September 15, 1950, to Andrew and Felicia Dobransky in Fort Worth, TX. After graduating from Grand Prairie High School in 1969. John went on to study art at the University of Texas at Arlington where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1973. John served as an Airman in the U.S. Air Force from March 25, 1974 until August 17, 1977.

He was an accomplished artist, who also enjoyed finding and carving arrowheads and wood carving. He was also passionate about his family's Cherokee heritage and did extensive research into that genealogy. Throughout the trials of his life, John remained constant in his faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Felicia Dobransky, sister, Judith Ann Wetzel and two wives, Victoria Stevens Dobransky and Barbara Hunt Dobransky.

He is survived by his son, Chadwick Eugene Dobransky and daughter, Tonya Alysia Dobransky; sisters, Mary Perkins-Loewen, Paula McPherson and Carolyn Cockrell; and nieces and nephew, Lisa Coleman, Greg Wetzel, Niki Johnson and Sharla Cockrell.

Interment will be held at the VA Memorial Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX when scheduling permits. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church in Winters, TX, an organization John felt strongly about.
