Arnold Marion Rutishauser, age 83, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, from cancer. He was born January 6, 1942, in Ohio, to the late Arnold Rutishauser and Helen Irene Zurcher Rutishauser.

Arnie was a quiet, hard-working, patient, private, modest man of few words, but ones that mattered, and so many talents. He was considered by many to be a master craftsman. He had a strong work ethic and devoted almost fifty years of his life to his work as a lathe operator. He also was a Remington Recommended Gunsmith at the Village Pharmacy Sports Shop, followed by Hill's Sporting Goods, in Raleigh for over fifty years. He was selected to restore parts of the historic Gatling gun, once featured at the North Carolina Museum of History for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, experiencing nature and listening to bluegrass music. Arnie was loving and kind.

Arnie is survived by his daughter, Amy Murray (Van); sister, Sonja Poellot; sister-in-law, Brenda Smith (Kenneth); many nieces; nephews; cousins; and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Arnie was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Nash Rutishauser; brother-in-law, Roe Poellot.

Per his wishes, no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, a Tree of Life can be dedicated in honor of Arnie or memorial contributions may be made to The Wilderness Center.
