Arnold Sheiffer an acknowledged expert in corporate reorganization and a distinguished leader in the U.S. media and communications industries, died peacefully in the evening of Sunday, December 14, 2025, in
Vero Beach, Florida. He was 93 years old.
Arnie was born in
Chelsea, Massachusetts, on January 18, 1932, the son of the late David and Betty Sheiffer. He was predeceased by his sister, Thelma Sheiffer Rubenstein and his borther, Dr. Jerome Sheiffer.
Arnie's distinguished career was anchored in the resolve and tenacity he acquired during his early life. After earning his Bachelor of Science from Boston University, he went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1956, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant as a proud pilot assigned to U.S. Strategic Air Command. He often credited his time in uniform with instilling the leadership and decisive judgment that he later brought to the corporate world.
He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), launching A. Sheiffer and Company with offices in New York City and Atlanta. Later in life receiving his M.B.A. in Finance from New York University, he expanded his business focus and in 1990 joined Katz Media, the nation's largest media representation firm, as Chief Financial Officer, later COO. There, he directed a major management buyout of the company and successfully concluded its sale in 1994 for the largest price ever paid for a media representation firm at that time. Throughout his professional life, Arnie was widely respected for his leadership, vision, and a natural ability to inspire colleagues and staff alike. He became known for his expertise in the reorganization of companies requiring specialized management in the media and communications fields.
His influence extended across the industry, where he served as Chairman of Petry Media Corporation, Chairman and CEO of Smart Route Systems, Inc. (directing its sale to CBS/Westwood One) and continued to share his sharp financial acumen by consulting for top investment firms Goldentree Asset Management and Sandler Capital Management. Never one to retire, in 2008 with a young entrepreneur he joined the technology world and became the founding partner of IQM2 which they sold to California firm Accela in 2014.
Arnie served as a former Trustee of the Jewish Center of the Hamptons. He was a proud member of the University Club-NYC, Westhampton Country Club, and La Ronde Beach Club in Westhampton Beach and John's Island Club,
Vero Beach, Florida.
Known as Arnold to his family, "Arnie" to his friends, "Uncle Arnold" to his nieces and nephews, and "Big A" to grand nieces and nephews, he was "Dad" to son Eric, "Grandpa" to grandson Sammy, and brother and "best friend" to Kenneth. His greatest joy was sharing life's journey with his wife of 29 years Pamela Sheiffer. He would always tell everyone that she was the "love of his life," and she remained his unwavering partner through every challenge, success, and celebration.
Arnold enjoyed celebrating holidays, making memories and passing down traditions, especially the annual Passover Celebration in his home with family and friends of all religions.
Arnold's loved his home in Westhampton Beach, where he found deep pleasure in his vegetable garden and spending time at the beach. He possessed a wonderful touch for gardening, taking special pride every season in his tomatoes, which he cherished as the best in the world. His love of being near the ocean, drew him to John's Island Club in 2012 where his best times were "on the beach" or "in the gym".
Those who knew Arnie will remember him as a man whose warmth and genuine spirit illuminated everyone he touched, and whose enthusiasm for life was infectious. He will be remembered for his love of family and the profound relationships he forged with so many-a legacy reflecting a remarkable and full life.
