Arnold "Arnie" Tiefenthaler, 75 of Breda, died early Wednesday morning, October 8, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at St. Bernard's Church in Breda. The Celebrant is Father Terry Roder with Father Gary Snyder concelebrating. The Mass Servers will be Molly Tiefenthaler and Jaycee Grieve. The Lector is Scott Masching. The Gift Bearers are Christine Behrens, Nicole Behrens, Calvin Blessington, Aaron Holmes, James Buckley and Gavon Buckley. Bev Bruning will serve as Eucharistic Minister. The Casket Bearers will be provided by the Breda Fire Department and Carroll County Ambulance Service/Medic 5. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Breda with military honors conducted by the Breda American Legion.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The casket will be moved to St. Bernard's Church on Saturday morning where additional visitation will be from 9:00 -9:45 a.m.

Arnold "Arnie," son of Paul and Mary Tiefenthaler, was born on July 30, 1950, in Sac City, Iowa. He attended St. Bernard's Catholic School, graduating with the class of 1968. Arnie then attended mechanic school in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1969, Arnie enlisted with the U.S. Army Reserves and completed training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was honorably discharged in 1975. Arnie worked with Bliss Tire Service in Carroll until 1972 when he started a 50-year career with Delmar Bruning and Bruning Oil, retiring in 2022.
Arnie dedicated his life to family and friends. He enjoyed family get-togethers and time with friends, having laughs, eating (of course), golfing, playing cards and other games at Reds and the golf course. Arnie was a dedicated 40-plus year member of the Breda Fire Department and Breda EMS, as well as, a 50 year member of the Breda American Legion, where he was still active until the day he passed away. He was very honored to take the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
Arnie is survived by his brothers: LaVern Tiefenthaler of Breda; Gerald "Zeke" (Linda) Tiefenthaler of Unionville, Missouri; Gary (Jan) Tiefenthaler of Adel; Glenn Tiefenthaler of Auburn; his sisters: Eileen (Kent) Blessington of Auburn; Marlene Tiefenthaler of Auburn; a brother-in-law Marty Behrens of Lytton; nieces and nephews: Calvin (Shay) Blessington and their children: Aaron, James and Gavon; Eric (Brooke) Blessington and their son Kolby; Nicole Behrens and her children Kenray and Connor; Christine Behrens (fiancé Jordan Rozenboom) and her children Noah and Kora; Josh Collins and his daughters Sophie and Morgan; Jenny Fountas and her children: Daniel, Emma and Lukas; Jason (Mandy) Collins and their children: Abigail, Rebecca, Kaitlyn and A.J.; several aunts: Marty Rotert of Pocahontas; Ruth Rotert of Galena, Kansas; Joan Rotert of Des Moines; Almyra Weitl of Roselle; Loretta Rotert of Algona; and by many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Gene Tiefenthaler; a sister Karen Behrens; and a great-niece Kaylin Blessington.
