Arnold "Arnie" Whipple, 64, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the evening of September 25, 2023 in Conrad, Iowa.
Services for Arnie will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services. Memorials may be directed to the Children's Cancer Connection. Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Arnie and his family. Born Arnold Lee Whipple on January 9, 1959 in Hampton, Iowa, he was the third of nine children born to Virgil and Echo (Enabnit) Whipple. After graduating from Hampton High School in 1977, he went on to obtain his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Northern Iowa. He lived for a time in Des Moines and Colorado before settling in Marshalltown in 2007, where he worked as a night supervisor for Green Products. Arnold was a member of First Methodist Church. He liked to stay active by biking and participated in RAGBRAI several times. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and going to their sporting events, camping and weekly trips to Applebees. He was a big fan of the UNI Panthers and Colorado Rockies. Arnold was a humble, simple man with a big heart.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Rose (Jim) Fuller, Denise (Mark) Hartnett, Colleen (Steve) Stone, Teresa (Dennis) Kriegel, Phyllis (Brent) Bjelland, Lynn (Joan) Whipple, Brian (Kayda) Whipple and Earl (Sue) Whipple; stepmother, Shirley Whipple; nieces and nephews: David Fuller, Joseph Fuller, Shane Hartnett, Briana White, Jasmine Turner, Jeremy Stone, Dillon McKelvey, Kaitlyn Disterhoft, Darys Kriegel, Katie Wilkinson, Justus Bjelland, Addison Whipple, Jordan Whipple, Jackson Whipple, Jayden Whipple, Elaine Dougherty and James Whipple; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
In eternal life, Arnie is reunited with his mother and father, Echo and Virgil Whipple; and his niece, Ashlynn Whipple.
