Arrealle "AJ" Comstock, 78, passed away peacefully June 6, 2025 with family by her side. Born in Jackson, TN to Willie and Mary (Fingers) Fant, she lived in Clearwater, FL as well as northeast and central Ohio all of her adult life. AJ retired from Packard Delphi (division of GM) after 36 years of service. She was the owner of the House of Comstock Novelties & Things and she was a contributing member of the Java Shoppe SoberClub of Akron, OH. Also important to AJ was supporting the Haven of Rest Ministries and the International Fellowship of Christians & Jews. A standup comedian who knew no strangers, AJ enjoyed attending church and reading her Bible, ceramics, making jewelry, watching movies, playing with her great grand babies and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, AJ was preceded in death by her daughter, Alexis Hines; siblings, Doris Fant, Willie H. Fant, Mary Ann Jones, Samuel Davis Fant. She will be sadly missed by her sons, George Edward Thompkins Jr., Troy V. (Berphine) Thompkins, Zavean Carpenter; grandchildren, Kejona, Neo, Ana, Olivia, Zion, Elijah, Terrin; great grandchildren, Taris, Tayden; sister, Katherine Whitmore; plus a host of nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will take place Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Event Center at St. Paul, 196 E. Voris St., Akron, Ohio 44311. A repast will follow afterwards at the same location. Those who wish may make memorial donations in AJ's name to the American Cancer Society.
