Arthello Irving Branch Jr., affectionately known as Butch, passed away on August 29, 2025, in Richmond, Virginia, where he was born on November 26, 1954. He was a cherished member of his community and served as a Deputy Sheriff for Richmond City, where he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to public service and the safety of others.

Butch graduated from Highland Springs High School in Henrico County, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to helping others. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves, an experience that undoubtedly shaped his character and work ethic.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Butch will remember him for his laid-back personality and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. His loving nature shone brightly in every interaction, whether it was through his hobbies or the deep connections he fostered with his family and friends. A member of the Tuskegee Airmen Motorcycle Club, Butch enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow riders. He also had a passion for photography and loved spending quality time with his family, often expressing his love through his culinary skills.

He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Bryant (Aaron), his son, Arthello I. Branch III, and his two beloved grandchildren, Christian and Aidyn. Butch is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Olivis, and brothers, Anthony Branch and Irving Olivis Sr. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Butch is preceded in death by his loving parents, Althea and Arthello I Branch Sr., who undoubtedly instilled in him the values of service, kindness, and compassion that defined his life.

As we honor the memory of Arthello Irving Branch Jr., we celebrate a life dedicated to service and love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
