Arthur Bell Obituary
1937 - 2023
On August 22nd, 2023, Arthur "Pat" Patterson Bell, Jr. went to his heavenly home. Pat was born in Opelika, Alabama on December 21st, 1937.
He graduated from Pensacola High School in 1957 and worked at Chemstrand until he retired in 1993.
Pat married the love of his life, Nellie Jo Davis, on August 27th, 1960. They enjoyed a life filled with music, travel and community service. Pat enjoyed fishing and he loved Alabama football. He spent 20 years volunteering with the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary, and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.
He was ordained as a deacon at Ensley First Baptist Church in 1980 and was a faithful member of Plainview Baptist until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Elise Jones and his father, Arthur P. Bell, Sr.
Besides Nellie, he is survived by their only daughter, Cindy "Sweetbaby" Gerhardt. She gave him the joys of his life, his grandchildren; Jessica "Punkin" Roberts (Josh), Paul "Buddy Boy" Andrews and Jacob "Bud" Andrews, and his great-grands, Avery "Little Princess" and Phury "Sweetpea".
He also loved Scott "Son", Renee, Kevin and Benjamin just as his own.
He was the oldest brother of Peggy Pilcher (Frank) and Bobby Bell (Carol). He adored his nieces, Janet Pilcher (Robin) and Meredith Smith (Patrick).
Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home with service following at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2023.
Interment at Pensacola Memorial Gardens following the service.
