Randall Buck Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Family Funeral Home - Pensacola on Feb. 7, 2026.
Randall George Buck "Randy"

November 28, 1942 – January 28, 2026

Surrounded by love, Randy passed away peacefully in Pensacola, Florida.

Randy was the beloved son of George and Marvel (Soucek), both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Cathy (Norton), his daughters, Alisa and Christina, his grandchildren, Averey and Adria, and his siblings, Richard, Roger, Ramon, and Deborah.

He was raised in Richfield, MN, where he attended Ascension Catholic Grade School and later Richfield High School. He spent the majority of his life with his family in Stillwater, MN, where many of their most cherished memories were made. Above all, Randy treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and adoring grandfather, and his grandchildren were the light of his life.

As a patriot, Randy proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he attended the University of St. Thomas, where he played football and deepened his love of sports, teamwork, and discipline, while also sparking a fascination and lifelong passion for geology and sparkly, shiny gems.

Alongside his brothers, Randy co-owned and operated Buck's Unpainted Furniture, widely known throughout the Twin Cities area. It was a true family business, built through shared effort and commitment. He was a leader in the unfinished furniture industry, serving for many years as president and executive board member, earning the respect of fellow business owners and manufacturers.

A devoted coach, mentor, and friend, Randy believed in paying it forward, never expecting anything in return. He coached baseball, softball, hockey, football, and basketball, spending countless hours teaching young athletes teamwork, confidence, and character-lessons that extended beyond the game, shaping lives in lasting ways.

Randy lived life fully. He enjoyed golf, scuba diving, boating, fishing, hunting, and found peace outdoors, especially near the water. Known for his sharp wit, humor, wisdom, and generosity, he formed lasting friendships and had a rare ability to connect with people of all ages.

Randy's legacy is one of love, laughter, service, and unwavering support. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of Randy's life will be held in Pensacola, Florida, on February 17, 2026, beginning with Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Historic St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by a repast in the church hall and a procession to Barrancas National Cemetery for a 2:30 p.m. Military Honors Ceremony.

Condolences to you all for the loss of the one and only Randy Buck. He had an adventurous spirit that left a lasting impression. I have fond memories from my childhood complete with a lion cub, a Great Dane and an unforgettable ride on a houseboat on the St Croix River. He lived boldly and shared that joy with those around him. May the peace of Christ surround you in the days ahead.
