On August 7, 2025, Arthur "Tudy" Calles, peacefully took his last breath at the home of his son in Colton, CA. Tudy lived a rich and colorful life. His life was filled with experiences that shaped him as a person and impacted those around him. Tudy was born into a large family in Colton, CA. He was the youngest of six, born to Joseph and Gladys Calles. Growing up in a tight knit community he formed strong bonds with his siblings, Gloria (Louis "Lechi") Valizan, Nora (Alfred) Ochoa, Robert (Esther) Calles, Sylvia (Ramiro) Gutierrez, Richard (Jerri) Calles. Overcoming a childhood illness Tudy was resilient and determined to live life to the fullest. During the marriage to his beautiful wife, Anna Vasquez, their family grew to include three children, Georgina (Greg) Hager, Arthur, Jr. (Sonia) Calles and Jose Calles. Tudy leaves two grandsons, Nathan Amador and Jacob Lapinsky, one granddaughter, Samantha Lapinsky-Quiroz, and one great-grandson, Nathaniel Quiroz. Tudy loved his many nieces and nephews dearly. Tudy was a hard worker and entrepreneur. Early in his career, Tudy served in the U.S. National Guard. His jobs at Kaiser Steel and as a truck driver showed his dedication and strong work ethic. His entrepreneurship shined through when he opened a local neighborhood bar called "Tudy's Tavern" in Colton, CA, a place where friends and family could find Tudy sharing cold beers and his love of music. Music was a passion in Tudy's life. He was a self-taught musician and singer. His favorite instrument was the guitar. He could often be heard playing his guitar and singing with the San Salvador Catholic Church Choir. Tudy spent many evenings with friends and family playing his guitar and singing his favorite songs. Arthur "Tudy" Calles was a passionate musician, friend, husband, father and grandfather who will be remembered for sharing the joy of music and living life to the fullest.
