Arthur Cantu Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Pflugerville on Mar. 2, 2025.
Today we celebrate the life of Arthur Duane Cantu, a man whose zest for life and creativity touched many. Born on February 11, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas, Arthur passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, in Austin, Texas, due to respiratory failure. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Arthur, a San Antonio native, lived a life marked by his passion for cooking, music, dancing and singing. His love of life, sarcasm and wit would entertain a room. He would rather be the host than attend a party.
Arthur's professional life was characterized by his exceptional skills in the printing industry. Over the years, he garnered prestigious awards from the Printing Industries Association, a testament to his meticulous attention to quality and design.
He loved to cook for his wife, kids, family and friends and his talents were recognized with multiple awards, including from the Austin American Stateman, for his pastry pan de polvo cookies. He had a remarkable knack for creating the best tasting meals from Mexican dishes to baked pastries. Arthur's favorite pastime was BBQing in the backyard, no matter what backyard, he grilled.
Cooking was not only Arthur's passion, but he also had a particular affinity for traveling and escapades. With his wife, Jeni, he enjoyed their trips from the Gulf Coast to the West Coast to the Carribean Sea. Arthur loved the ocean.
His family, including his spouse, Jenny Cantu; daughter and son-in-law, Nina R. Pena & Marco Pena; son & daughter-in-law, Scott T. Cantu & Sunshine Cantu; grandchildren, Journey (Saturn) Campbell, Zepplin Cantu, and Pearl Cantu; and son, Eric Cantu, stood by his side.
Arthur is survived by his sister, Catherine Hilbig, brother, Mark Cantu, Aunt Francis Garza, Uncle Albert, and Uncle Eloy.
As we bid farewell to Arthur Duane Cantu, husband, friend & baby brother, we reflect on a life celebrating a journey that was as colorful and impactful as the man himself.
Arthur's memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy will continue to inspire.
