Arthur "Art" Clow

Arthur "Art" Karl Clow, 91, of South Mills, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at his home in South Mills, NC, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newport, CT on January 16, 1933 to the late Karl Arthur Clow and Rose Ackerman Clow, he was the widower of Gladys Mae Williams Clow, his wife of 70 years, who preceded him in death in May of this year.
Art served his country honorably as a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy in the Disbursement Office and, after retiring, opened an antique furniture repair/restoration business. He also became a master clock repairman. Art was a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in South Mills.
Art is survived by his son, Karl Clow; daughters, Suzette Ward (Stanley) and Paulette McCoy (Jeff); two sisters, Jean Pisani and Lorraine Rosenbeck, both of CT; a brother, Raymond Clow (Barbara) of TX; grandchildren, Whitney Ward, Dustin Ward, Christopher Hollowell (Lacey); step-grandchildren, Sarah Haddock (Michael), Josh McCoy (Nicole), Abbey Myl (Jason); great- grandchildren, Bella, Lincoln, Dawson, and Cora; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Sidney Clow, and a grandchild, Theron Hollowell.
A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at West Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Darryl Stallings officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel. The family will receive visitors at the home on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
