Arthur William Conner, born January 18, 1934 in Bordentown, NJ to William Gilbert and Viola (South) Conner, died on April 21, 2025 in Lancaster, PA. He was 91.
He is survived by his daughters Nadine and Colette; son Dwight; granddaughter Cierra and grandson Declan; brothers Ken (Judy) and Lester (Barbara); and sisters-in-law Grace and Jane and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wives Noreda (Allen) and Evelyn (Elliot); son Craig; sisters Ruth (Carlyle) and Shirley (Carmine) and brothers Harold and William.
Arthur graduated from Pemberton Borough High School from which he received the Alumni Association Award. He graduated from Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He began his career in banking at the Peoples National Bank and Trust Co. in Pemberton, NJ. He was then employed at Burlington County National Bank in Medford. He was repeatedly promoted until he became President of the Bank. Following his tenure at the bank, Arthur worked at the Third District Funds Transfer Association as President. He enjoyed working in Philadelphia and traveling around the Northeast and the United States for various meetings and conventions.
Arthur enjoyed vacations with his family while he was working and after retirement delighted in taking wonderful trips with his second wife Evelyn.
After Evelyn passed away, Arthur moved to the Willow Valley community in Lancaster. Here he met a new collection of friends. He enjoyed volunteering, finding new restaurants in which to eat, and developed a love of baseball.
His love of Christ informed all of his decisions. He grew up attending the First Baptist Church of Vincentown until he moved to Willow Valley where he joined a new Church community. He never missed a chance to celebrate his faith. He will be remembered for his loyalty, love, and friendship.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:30am at the First Baptist Church of Vincentown, 39 Main St, Vincentown, NJ 08088. Relatives and Friends may attend his viewing on Saturday from 10 – 11:30 am at the Church. Burial will follow in the Vincentown Baptist Cemetery.
