About
Arthur Holst Obituary
Born to Norman Sr. and Mary Louise Holst, graduate of Central High School (class 234) and Temple University, Arthur earned his doctorate and was twice honored as a Fulbright Scholar. He loved to travel, building friendships across the globe.
Admired for his wit and integrity, he devoted his life to education and public service. Arthur served Philadelphia as Chief of Staff to a City Councilman, Director of the Betsy Ross House, Financial Aid Director at Temple University, and Liaison for the Water Department.
Survived by brothers Jerome, Rodger, and Stephen; sisters Tina, Patrice, and Marguerite; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by siblings Norman and Virginia.
Private family service. Donations may be made to the Betty Ann Shema Morris Scholarship Fund at Temple University.
