He was born in Manor, GA to the late Wesley James and Lottie Boyd James. He retired after 35 years of employment from King Edward Cigar Factory as a supervisor. In his spare time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He simply loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Helen James of Waycross; four children, Betty Lynn Griffin of Blackshear, Sidney James of Blackshear, Keith James of Villa Rica, GA, and Cindy Crawford of Blackshear; five grandchildren, Chris Smith, Brandi Smith, Tyler Crawford, Olivia Crawford, and Kaylee Hooley (Bryce); six grandchildren, Kirsti Smith, Jaylin Smith, Cole Herrin, Kenley Joyner, Jensi Smith, and Rylan Crawford; two brothers, Barry Lamar James (Angie) of Manor and Butch James of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (November 11, 2024) at Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Manor.
