Foster Enos James

Foster Enos James was born on January 22, 1946, in Corsicana, Texas, to the parentage of Simon and Maude Lee James, who both preceded him in death.
Foster was a proud father, a loving, caring, generous, and outgoing man who lived his life to the fullest and faithfully fulfilled his role as long as his health permitted.
He was reared in Irene, Texas, where he professed his belief in Christ and united with the AME Church. In 1963, Foster and family moved to Dallas, Texas, where his family united with Smith Chapel AME Church under the leadership of Rev. Reed. While serving there, he became a member of the ministerial team and was later ordained as a minister. He went on to pastor Bible Way AME Church, where he faithfully served for six years. Later in life, Foster united with his lifelong friend at St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. C.J.R. Phillips, Jr. He was an active and faithful member of the Senior Ministry, served on the Security Staff, and assisted the Custodial Team each Sunday. Foster was known for his trustworthiness, consistent attendance, and kind, approachable spirit.
Professionally, he was employed as a foreman at LTV Corporation until his retirement after 35 years.
Foster James departed this life on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Methodist Central Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children, two sisters, several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, extended family, church family, and a host of relatives and friends who will forever remember his faith, kindness, and dedication to God and others.
