Arthur Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel - Redding from Sep. 17 to Sep. 23, 2025.
Arthur lived his life his way and on his own terms, this ranged from the day to day to how he handled a piece of equipment in the woods. Arthur was the oldest child of Art Sr and Eva, quickly becoming Art Sr's right-hand man in the family logging business in Shingletown. Being part of the community in Shingletown and the logging community of Shasta County was one of the most important things to Arthur next to his family and friends. Arthur was ready to share a good story (or several) and a bud light with friends and family, reminiscing of simpler times and the small town he loved. Arthur was an active member of the E Clampus Vitus Trinitarian chapter, embracing the maintenance of the local history and brotherhood of the Clampers. He was often seen in the classic Red and Black of the Clamper brotherhood.

Arthur was very passionate about passing on his skills running equipment and his love of woods with his family, continuing the family tradition of working with son AJ (Arthur III). He was even training his grandson Emmett as operator, even if Emmett slept through some of the training. His daughter Miranda may not have followed in his footsteps as an equipment operator, but he instilled the love of being out in woods and value of hard work and was proud of her pursuing her degree and working in the veterinary field.

One of Arthur's biggest accomplishments was being a grandparent to his two grandkids Olivia and Emmett. He didn't miss a single dance recital for Olivia and was excited to see Emmett being the fourth generation of Johnson to be in the woods he loved. He loved being part his grandchildren's adventures.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents Art Sr, and Eva Johnson. He survived by his wife Cindy Johnson and partner Ginger Powell, daughter Miranda Johnson Michaels (Glenn Michaels), AJ Johnson (Ashley Metcalf Johnson), grandchildren Olivia and Emmett, his brothers Squire and Kim and sister Nancy Johnson, several nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins throughout California and Oregon.

Celebration of life will be October 25th, at noon at AJ's Shop (16305 Evergreen Rd Cottonwood). In Arthur fashion it will be a shop party.
