Arthur Killingbeck, a beloved brother, uncle, veteran, and storyteller, passed away peacefully at the age of 93. Born on December 4, 1931, in Torrington, Connecticut, Arthur led a life filled with service, humor, and deep devotion to his family.
A proud Corporal in the United States Army, Arthur served honorably during the Korean War, where he worked as a cook-an experience he later captured in his memoir U.S. Army Privates, Sergeants, Fire and Smoke, a lighthearted and vivid reflection on his time in the military. The book remains available on Amazon and continues to bring smiles to readers with its wit and warmth.
Following his military service, Arthur built a successful career as a real estate agent in California. Over the years, he made homes in both California and Florida, always cherishing the connections he made and the family who surrounded him.
Arthur was one of six children born to Clara Teti Killingbeck and Frederick Killingbeck, Sr. He was preceded in death by his brothers Frederick, Edward, Joseph, and Kenneth. He is survived by his loving sister, Elizabeth Intagliata of Venice, Florida, and by many devoted nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly for his feisty spirit, sharp sense of humor, and the kindness he showed to those around him.
Arthur will be remembered not only for his service and accomplishments but for the joy he brought to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Memorial Service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72 (Clark Road),
Sarasota, FL 34241, on June 12, 2025 @ 2:00 p.m.
