Larry Munyon, 91, of East Palestine passed away at his home surrounded by his family on March 19, 2024.
He was born on September 3rd, 1932 to the late Pearlie (McGath) and Arthur Munyon.
Larry was a retired US Mail Carrier, who worked for the East Palestine Post Office from 1957 to 1987. After his retirement, Larry went to work at NRM in Akron.
Larry was also an Air Force veteran and served during the Korean War. He enlisted into the Air Force in September of 1949 and spent some of his time serving in Newfoundland. Larry successfully graduated from Air Force Radio Mechanic School and was honorably discharged in 1953.
Larry was also a member of the First Church of Christ, where he served in multiple capacities over many, many years.
He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Guardians.
Larry is survived by his wife Evelyn (Miles) Munyon of nearly 59 years, three daughters Brenda (Kristy) Munyon, Julie (Keith) Richael, and Debbie (Robert) Ober; a son Larry Munyon; a sister Nelda Dugan; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Koch, Jaclyn Koch, Gage Bush, Adam Leaf, Josh Munyon, Charisse Munyon, Cody Munyon; three great grandchildren, Kelton Enos, Alison Enos, Connor Childers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virginia Munyon and Betty Munyon Muntean; a brother Eldon Munyon; and one great grandson Ethan Ferguson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday March 24th, 2024 at 5:00 PM at the First Church of Christ on East Market Street in East Palestine, Ohio. The family will receive friends and family prior to the Celebration at 4:00 PM.
