Arthur Luongo Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Arthur G. "Louie" Luongo of Arlington, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Born on August 2, 1948 to Guido and Margaret Luongo (née Sweeny), Arthur grew up in the Boston area and earned degrees from Boston University and Suffolk University Law School. A lover of adventure, history, story, and people, Arthur relished telling accounts of his diverse and colorful life, sometimes more than once. With characteristic charm, Arthur had a gift for making one feel like the only person in the room and endeared himself to many. He tirelessly championed his family and friends, and in later years took enormous pleasure spending time with his granddaughter. He is survived by his son Matthew and his wife, Stephanie; his grandchildren, Olivia and Gabriel; his siblings, Ernie, Charlie, Debbie, and Jackie; his beloved nieces and nephews; other loving family; and dear, close friends, many of whom he cherished like family. Family and friends are invited to attend mass at Sacred Heart Parish, 770 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown, MA, on Saturday, May 31st, at 10:00 a.m. Private burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arthur's name to Tufts Medical Center, Amyloidosis and Myeloma Research Fund.
