Arthur Moreno Obituary
"Big Man"
Age 77, late of Calumet City, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 24,
2026. Born in Mexico, moved to the United States at a young age and resided in
Michigan, and the Chicago Land area for many years. A proud United States Vietnam
Marine Corps Veteran. Member of the Calumet City American Legion Post 330. An avid
Chicago and University of Michigan fan.
Preceded in death by his beloved daughter in infancy, Elizabeth Moreno; and his
parents, Juan and Josephine (Nee Origel) Moreno.
Survived by his loving son, Ken (Sherry) Moreno; wife Socorro; three adored
granddaughters, Alyssa, Shayla, and Koral Moreno; great grandson, Brady Pierce; his
devoted sister, Christina Colella; cherished niece, Angeline (Leticia Ramirez) Colella
and nephew, Anthony (Jenny) Colella; Michael Rubio, many loved family members and
friends.
Visitation will be held at Hickey Memorial Chapel 4201 W. 147 th St. Midlothian, IL
60445 on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Prayers will be
held at Hickey Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 10:00am,
proceeding to St. Andrew the Apostle Church (Jesus Shepherd of Souls Parish),
Calumet City, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Following Mass
interment with Full Military Honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National
Cemetery, Elwood at 1:30pm.
