Michael Thomas Burke

Michael T. Burke, 50, late of Hammond, IN formerly of Midlothian, IL passed away on February 11, 2026. Born on June 16, 1975 to Richard and Kathleen (nee Miska) Burke, Mike was the beloved youngest of twelve children. He went to Bremen High School, lived life boldly and was unapologetically larger than life. He had a huge heart that enveloped everyone he came across.

Mike was a tradesman since he was old enough to carry a tool and jump on a roof. He loved to learn and even more to teach others what he knew. He loved his country, God, and his family fiercely. Mike treated everyone like a neighbor and neighbors like family. He was always ready with a laugh, words of comfort for a friend in need, and loved his kids more than anything.

Michael is survived by his wife Mary (nee Patanella), their children Anthony, Rachel, and Daniel Burke, nine siblings, and many extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Kathleen, his brother Dan, and his sister Peggy.
