Arthur Lee Owens

Arthur L. Owens was born on November 20, 1971, to the late Robert Lawson and Helen Owens in Passaic, New Jersey. "Art" as he was affectionately called by family members and friends, was the youngest in age - but possessed superior leadership skills with family. Additionally, Art had superior work ethics. He started to work for Mobile Oil in Garfield, NJ shortly after his high school graduation in 1989. He continued to work at the gas station until his unfortunate accident on August 25, 2018, that left him a paraplegic.
Arthur loved the Lord. He was in "Bible Study" nightly. His spirituality brought him through many tough times. In his last years of life, Art apologized to his family for anything that he might have done wrong.
Art loved his family. He always kept the house clean, and he was a fantastic cook.
He was KING of the GRILL at all family cookouts! Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day were never the same since Art's illness. All the family would stop by on these occasions. His fabulous meals will be a forever memory.
Another memory was Art's presence on Facebook. He found joy staying in touch with family and friends.
After the Lord and his family, watching sports on television and rooting for his favorite teams were a passion. Art loved baseball, football, and basketball. He was the biggest fan of all the New York teams.
Arthur was predeceased by his father Robert Lawson; his mother Helen Owens; brother Curtis Owens; his favorite aunt Lula Mae Brown and a favorite cousin James "Lee" Brown.
Arthur leaves to mourn his memory two brothers James Owens and Robert Owens; two sisters Mary Ann Owens and Annie Mae Owens, his devoted Advocate and "sister" Lillian Brown; nephews Curtis Williams and Robert Owens Jr.; nieces Charisma Floyd, Denise Owens, Tanisha Robinson, Chelsey Owens, Samayah Mitchell, Felicia Curtis, and Alejah Wilson, Special Cousin Clara Brown and family of Passaic, and Family in Florida, South Carolina, and the Cheshire Home Nursing Family (Annie Williams - Social Worker, nurses, aides and buddies, neighbors and friends.
