Arthur L. Regan

Arthur L. "Artie" Regan, age 90, a lifelong resident of Winchester, passed away on November 14, lovingly surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband for 68years of Sally E. (Chisholm) Regan.
Born in Woburn, Artie was the son of the late William C. and Anna (Guilderson) Regan. He was raised in the North End of Winchester and was a graduate of Winchester High School with the class of 1952. While in school, he marched with the Immaculate Drum and Bugle Corps playing cornet earning him the "Sidelips" nickname. After high school, he enlisted with the U.S. Army and served during the Korean conflict.
Artie married the love of his life, Sally E. Chisholm, in 1956 and they spent many happy years together, raising their family in Winchester. He later attended Suffolk University and received a degree in business which he used to create a successful career in sales at various companies and eventually as owner of Mooney New England and then in semi-retirement finishing his career at William Collins.
In his spare time, Artie enjoyed watching sports, coaching his son's hockey and baseball teams and in his later years could always be found on the golf course. He was a member of Thomson Country Club in North Reading where he served on the board. His kids remembered that he was always interested and involved in their activities and even participated in the St. Mary's CYO show years ago.
Known for his handiness, Artie, with help from local friends in different trades, built the family home where they raised their family in Winchester. He was always the first one there if a repair or project was needed for any family member.
In addition to his wife Sally, Artie leaves behind his loving children: Kathleen Gendron of Lowell, Jeanne L. Gagnon and her husband Marc of Billerica, and Peter A. Regan and his wife Janell of Billerica. He was the devoted grandfather of Veronica Boucher, Candice Trudel, Donny Gendron, Elizabeth Kelley, Danny Greelish, Allison Hutchings, Ryan Regan, Jack Hutchings and Andrew Regan, and the great-grandfather of Dylan and Bodhi Boucher, Leo and Asa Trudel, Jett Gendron, Christopher, Jake, Kyle, Benny and Olivia Kelley. He was the dear brother of William C Regan, Jr. of CA and the late John J. Regan (Winchester FD) and his surviving spouse Ruthann Regan of Winchester. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Visiting Hours at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Tuesday, November 19 from 4-7PM and again on Wednesday, November 20 at 11AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
