Arthur Lee “Shorty” Roberts, 77, of Homerville passed away early Thursday morning at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Volusia County, FL to the late Lee and Serena Mae Worth Roberts. Mr. Roberts loved to FISH, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four children, Randall Roberts, Patricia Roberts, Joy Roberts, and Taylor Roberts; sister, Nettie Mae Hinson; brother, Frank Roberts.
Survivors include his significant other of 27 years, Tracy Christian of Homerville; four daughters, Nezzie Parker (husband Allen) of Homerville, Julie O’Berry (husband Bill) of Waycross, Brandy Harris (husband David) of Stockton, and Jennifer Askew (husband Paul) of Lake City, FL; five sons, Arthur Roberts (wife Roni Sue) of Howell, GA, Terry Roberts (wife Vicki) of Ray City, GA, Joel Roberts of Lake City, FL, Kenneth Roberts of Tallahassee, FL, and Michael Roberts (wife Danielle) of Lake City, FL; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Crews of Homerville; one brother, Harvey Roberts (wife Cheryl) of Rochester, NY; brother-in-law, Ronnie Christian of Homerville; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, October 28, 2023, from 6 until 8 pm at Roundtree Funeral Home.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
