Bonnie Sue Roberts (Wilkinson) of Selma passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026.
Bonnie was born on August 10, 1941, to Bob and Rosemary Wilkinson. A proud 1959 graduate of Selma High School, she was a lifelong resident of the community she cherished so deeply.
In her early years, Bonnie worked for Prestige Portraits before continuing her career at the Selma Grocery Store and the Selma Pantry. It was there that she and her sister, Sherry, became locally "world famous" for their incredible cooking. Sherry and Bonnie became especially known for their homemade sugar cream pies and ham salad.
Eventually, Bonnie retired from working outside the home to embrace the role she treasured most - homemaker. It was a title she wore proudly. Caring for her family wasn't simply what she did; it was who she was. Even at home, her kitchen was her stage, and every meal she prepared was an act of love. Whether it was a holiday feast, a weeknight dinner, or "just because," no one ever left Bonnie's table hungry.
On July 23, 1960, Bonnie married the love of her life, George Roberts. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion. Their marriage was a partnership in every sense of the word, lasting until George's passing in 2016. Though she missed him dearly, her love for him never wavered.
If there was one thing everyone knew about Bonnie - beyond being an amazing cook - it was that she loved fiercely. She was devoted to her children… until the grandchildren came along. And then she was devoted to her grandchildren… until the great-grandchildren arrived. Each new generation became her greatest joy. Her pride in them was evident in every story she told, every game she attended, and the many gifts under the tree at Christmas. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the heartbeat of her life.
Bonnie is survived by her three children: Greg Roberts (Debbie) of Yorktown; Julie Roberts (Donna Davis) of Indianapolis; and Missy Davis (Mike) of Selma. She leaves behind five grandchildren: Adrian Aul (Megan), Maleah Parrish (Zach), Kodi Pfleeger (Kayla Belton), Jayden Pfleeger (Hannah), and Hanna Furney (Skylar); and twelve treasured great-grandchildren: Ava, Alexis, Elizabeth, Dallas, Jay, Nash, McKenna, Tate, Nyla, Nixon, Emersen, and Tucker. She is also survived by her brother, Bob Wilkinson (Sharon); brother-in-law, Jerry Springer; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Roberts; her parents, Bob and Rosemary Wilkinson; her sister, Sherry Springer; and her sister-in-law, Irene Wilkinson.
Funeral services will be held at Compass Church in Selma on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM, located at 400 N. CR 600 E, Selma. Services will be performed by Jayden Pfleeger and Pastor Adam Sewell. Friends may call at Compass Church on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the gracious caregivers of United Home Healthcare - Kelsee, Addison, Cherish, Melinda, and Cortney - and to Susan and Tonya of Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassion and care. Finally, the family would like to thank her niece, Debbie Metcalfe, for her endless hours of support during the final years of care.
Memorial contributions may be made to Compass Church of Selma or to the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department (408 N. CR. 600 E.
Selma, IN 47383)
Bonnie's legacy lives on in the recipes passed down, the traditions she created, and the family she loved beyond measure. Her kitchen may be quiet, but her love will continue to nourish generations to come.
