David A. Simonsson, 44, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

He was born on March 23, 1981 in Tampa, Florida, the son of James A. and Alicia A. (Lighty) Simonsson. He graduated from Madison Grant High School in 1999 and attended Ball State University. On December 29, 2008, he married Marilyn Powers.

David was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Council #560, Muncie. He enjoyed cooking, playing video games, Anime, comics and Star Trek.

Surviving are two children, Sophia M. Simonsson and Angela L. Simonsson; two brothers, John Carter and Jesse Simonsson (wife, April); one sister, Liz Simonsson; his long-time girlfriend, Tami Hamilton; three nieces, Lily, Penny and Kelsey; and his best friend, Mike Hiatt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 11 years, Marilyn Simonsson on April 15, 2020.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie. Burial will take place at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 11201 S. Marion Road 35, Marion, IN.

Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
