Arthur Shaffer

Arthur H. Shaffer, 82, of Warren, Ohio, passed away on December 22, 2025.

Born on April 22, 1943, in Shelcota, Pennsylvania. Arthur was the son of the late Jacob and Gladys Shaffer.

Arthur spent many years working as a mechanic at Howland bus garage, where he was respected for his mechanical knowledge, dependability, willingness to help others, and took pride in working with his hands.

Arthur was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. This sense of service carried on into his civilian life when he volunteered with the Champion Fire Department, where he was always willing to lend a hand to his community. Arthur enjoyed fishing and hunting and had a lifelong passion for cars and engines. He especially enjoyed participating in demolition derbies at the Trumbull County Fair and spending time shooting pool with friends.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jean Wissinger; and his brothers, John Shaffer, Eugene Shaffer, and Jake Shaffer.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Murphy (Randy) of Champion; his son, Art Shaffer of California; his grandchildren, Joseph John Keller III, Jimmy Serbin, Stacy Serbin, and Marquise Smith; his great-grandchildren, Lana "Sunshine" Kellar, Caleb, Natalie, Amira, Ivy, and Dillon;his brother, Harry Shaffer (Sharon) of Champion; his sister, Sandy Ozanich (Lary) of Niles; a great-aunt, Dorthy "Dot" Hameman; and a special cousin, Butch Shaffer. He also leaves good friends, Ted Harless, Sandy Serbin, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
