Arthur Weiss Obituary
August 2, 1935 - March 2, 2023
Arthur E. Weiss, a twenty-seven-year resident of Aransas Pass, passed away on March 2, 2023.
Arthur was born on August 2, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas and attended Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Abilene Christian University and Baylor University, where he received his master's degree.
Arthur was a United States Marine and served from 1955 – 1959. He had a successful career as a teacher and tennis coach. He spent sixteen years at Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas, five years at Rockport High School, in Rockport, Texas and his last five years at Tuloso Midway High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was inducted into the Texas Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1992. Arthur retired in 1991 and enjoyed his time being a fishing guide on the Texas Coast for almost twenty years.
Arthur is survived by is son James Bradley Weiss and daughter-in-law Prescha, his niece Pam Weiss and sister-in-law Mary Jane Weiss.

Coach Weiss was an awesome person and tennis coach. I had a very successful run at tennis due to his coaching abilities. But, more than that, Coach was a caring person. He always lifted you up with encouraging words and never left you feeling defeated. I pray for his family and the loss of this great man. Kaye Milam McKinley RLT 1972
