Arturo Luces Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Homes & Crematory - Milton Chapel on Aug. 15, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Arturo (Art) Bores Luces, 89, of Pace, Florida departed to meet our Lord on August 10, 2025. Our Arturo was resilient and witty until his last day on earth. He was a loving husband, father, Lolo, and great-grandfather.

Arturo was born and raised in Marulas Polo, Philippines and met the love of his life, Lualhati Luces, in his home country. Together, they left the Philippines to the United States, chasing opportunity and building a life founded on love, sacrifice, and strength. Arturo proudly served in the United States Navy, dedicating himself to his country with honor and integrity. Following his service, Arturo was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze star.

Together, Arturo and Lualhati raised three children-Athena, Rowena, and Jae-instilling in them the values of hard work, compassion, and cultural pride.

Though he lived far from the country of his birth, Arturo became a sense of home for everyone who knew him. Be it his strength, hospitality, or loving presence, he made others feel seen, safe, and deeply loved. His life was not only a testament to resilience but also to the power of making others feel they belong. His legacy lives on in every story told, every meal shared, and every act of kindness inspired by his example.

Arturo is preceded in death by his wife, Lualhati Luces; his father Salvatore Luces; his mother Eustaquia Luces; brother Narcing Luces; his sister Nora Luces.

Arturo (Art) Bores Luces is survived by his children, Athena L. Lampitoc (Mark) of Gulf Breeze, FL, Rowena L. Luces of Bradley, ME, Arturo L. Luces (ArJae) of Pace, FL; as well as his grandchildren, Raina G. Hall (Cory) of Pace, FL, Zane Lampitoc of Atlanta, GA, RaeAnne L. Davis (Morgan) of Mobile, AL, Isa Lampitoc of Atlanta, GA, Lorenzo R. Nolasco (Christina) of Monterey, CA; and one great granddaughter Maeva Nolasco.

A funeral mass for Arturo Luces will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 6451 Park Ave, Milton, FL 32570, with visitation at 10:00-11:00 a.m. and mass starting at 11:00 a.m. being officiated by Monsignor Michael V. Reed. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Active pallbearer's will be Mark Lampitoc, Zane Lampitoc, Jae Luces, Lorenzo Nolasco, and Morgan Davis.

Although we are deeply saddened by Arturo's passing, we are thankful for the memories we shared with him. His presence was a gift, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
