Pastor Ashenafi Z. Tadesse was born on November 21, 1952, in Kofele, Arsi, Ethiopia, to Zwege Tadesse and Ejigayew. From an early age, he demonstrated a deep faith in God and a love for serving others.
He married Zewdinesh Tadesse, and together they were blessed with five children — three daughters (Ement, Lydia, and Ficker) and two sons (Eyasu and Tewabe) and six grandchildren who brought him great joy.
Pastor Ashenafi faithfully served as an associate Pastor until his retirement at Ethiopian Christian Fellowship Church, ministering through home-to-home evangelism, organizing and leading Bible study groups, and teaching Sunday school. His ministry touched countless lives and helped many grow closer to Christ.
He enjoyed sharing authentic Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee, often inviting friends and church members for one-on-one coffee and prayer, fostering genuine fellowship. He was also passionate about photography, capturing special moments at weddings, birthdays, and community gatherings. He faithfully reached out to those who stopped attending church by calling or visiting them. He prayed for them, encouraged them, and showed genuine love and concern for their well-being.
Above all, Pastor Ashenafi loved preaching about the second coming of Christ and the resurrection. His words and examples continue to inspire those he shepherded.
He is survived by his beloved wife Zewdinesh Tadesse, their children, grandchildren, and many friends and spiritual family who will forever cherish his memory.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4 : 7
