Born on March 3, 1995, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, a baby girl burst into the world with a twinkle in her eye and an abundance of love in her heart. Her parents, William K. Edwards and Brenda D. Edwards, would name her Ashley Michelle Edwards. From the moment Ashley could talk, it was clear that she wasn't meant for a mundane existence. She lived life in vivid color, painting every moment with an enthusiasm that was utterly contagious.
Ashley gave her life to Christ at an early age at Oasis of Hope Baptist Church. She participated in the Junior Ushers ministry and Voices of Oasis.
Ashley attended St. Lawrence Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Chatard High School in 2013.
On November 7, 2014, Ashley married Markus Graves. To this union, a daughter, Alayna Christine, was born.
Ashley worked as a Paparazzi Jewelry Consultant. She enjoyed the social aspect of selling and helping others find stylish accessories. In 2021, she began working at IU Health Methodist and transferred to IU Health University Hospital as a Guest Relations Associate. While working in this role, she was sweet and engaging to each person who was in her presence.
Ashley lived her life with a spirit of kindness and warmth that would define her life journey. She was known for her bubbly personality and affection towards others by her hugs. Ashley always found a way to make the ordinary extraordinary.
Known for her vibrant spirit and love for celebrations, Ashley Michelle Graves departed this earthly life on Friday, July 4, 2025. Ashley was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Veachel Hendrickson, paternal grandparents William and Barbara Edwards, and aunt VanJean Edwards.
She leaves to cherish her memories Husband, Markus Graves; Daughter, Alayna; Mother, Brenda D. Edwards; Father William (Paula) Edwards; Brother, Michael Edwards; Sisters, Phlona Williams and Angela Mayham; Mother and Father in law, Tyrone and Susan Bethea; Sisters-In-Law, Tyane Bethea and Darnisha Graves; Aunts, Linda Hendrickson, Jennifer (Delven) Barfield, J. Deneise (Albert) Oliver-Dumas, Sharon (Harold) Jiles, and Francine (Edward) Morris; Cousins, Robert Edwards and Kayla Barfield, Plus other relatives and a host of friends.
