Ashley Scott Obituary

Ashley Janet Scott was born January 6, 1985, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, to Kurt Vestman and Kathleen DeCoria. The first born in a gaggle of siblings that would eventually grow to eight brothers and sisters. Ashley loved being the big sister to so many, maintaining loving and close relationships with each and every one of her siblings. Ashley spent the majority of her formative years growing up in Boise, Idaho. It was there that she attended elementary school all the way up to eventually graduating from Capitol High School.

After leaving Boise, Ashley made her home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She earned her licenses in both cosmetology and real estate, and thoroughly enjoyed practicing both professions along with helping friends with their cleaning businesses. She loved and excelled best at the jobs that had her working directly with people.

Ashley was the life of the party, the literal beating heart of any social gathering, making friends easily wherever she went. She had an infectious energy, a wicked sense of humor, and a deeply dimpled smile that could light up an entire house. Throughout her time on this earth, she made many lifelong friendships that continue through today.

Ashley went on many adventures in life, but her favorite one began in 2009, when she became a mom. It was then that she welcomed Crew Scott into this world alongside Cody Scott of Idaho Falls (whom she married and later divorced). Siblings, Jack and Jude Scott would later join their older brother in 2011, and 2015, respectively. Ash loved her sons fiercely and was the most proud boy mom you'll ever meet. Fully embracing all aspects of being the only girl on her own team of little men. She passionately cheered for and attended all of her sons' numerous baseball, football, and basketball games, and just as many (if not more) practices. She lived and breathed being a mother to her three sons, fully supporting and fiercely loving them always. And her boys fully and fiercely loved her back and enjoyed the benefits of having a mom with both talent and an eye for style—consistently keeping them sporting the latest hairstyles and the most on trend "swag."

When Ashley wasn't at games, she and the boys enjoyed spending time together working out, skiing, hiking, soaking in the outdoors, and always cherishing their tradition of cuddling up with cheesy popcorn and a good movie.

Ashley's heart was anchored in her love for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. She cherished her Bible, often spending quiet moments reading, memorizing scripture, and praying daily with her boys. Ashley knew God, and knew without doubt that he knew her.

Ashley was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. Ashley passed away after a very brief and courageous battle with a severe parasite infection, and an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer on October 27, 2025. She was only 40 years old.

And though her time was far too short, she managed to fill those 40 years with more life than many experience in twice that time. She truly lived every one of her brief, precious days to the fullest. Ashley passed peacefully in her home in Idaho Falls surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho and her loving family.

Ashley is survived by her loving sons, Crew, Jack, and Jude Scott of Idaho Falls; her mother, Kathi DeCoria of Idaho Falls; father, Kurt Vestman (Becky) of Coeur d'Alene; supportive brothers, Nicholas Vestman (Amber) of Boise, Michael Vestman (Alex) of Coeur d'Alene, Anders Lundquist of Boise, Gunner Lundquist (Brittney) of Boise; caring sisters, Hayley Donahue (Dillan) of Coeur d'Alene, Keeley Vestman of Sun Valley, Emily Lundquist of Boise, Anna Lundquist (Taylor) of Boise; maternal grandmother, Jan DeCoria of Cheney, WA; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was warmly welcomed in death by her maternal grandfather, Alfred DeCoria, and paternal grandparents, Tord and Janet Vestman.

A celebration of her life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at The Bridge Church, 2170 12th Street, Idaho Falls.

Memorial donations can be sent to The Bridge Church and/or Bonneville High School baseball.
